Why do great books go out of print?
This year Head of Zeus launched Apollo, to make great forgotten works of fiction available to a new generation of readers. The list, curated by distinguished critic, poet and founder of Carcanet Press Michael Schmidt, reflects in various ways the extremity of our time, and the ways in which novelists responded to the vertiginous changes that the world went through as the great empires declined, relations between men and women were transformed and formerly subject peoples found their voice.
In partnership with Head of Zeus, we are pleased to offer libraries the opportunity to introduce their customers to this exciting list of rediscovered classics. We have 50 promotional packs to offer which include:
3 x A3 posters
50 x bookmarks
10 x Apollo leaflets
2 x Tote bags
Reading group sets
There is a limited number of reading group sets (10 copies) of Now in November by Josephine Johnson and review cards available which will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Please specify in the drop-down menu below if you would like a reading group with your materials - each library can request one reading group set only. Every library that receives a reading group set must commit to reading groups completing review cards and including them in displays.
All participating libraries will be asked to share photos of their display with the hashtag #ApolloClassics to @ReadingAgency and via email. All display photos will be automatically entered into competition to win a set of 12 titles Apollo Classics List.
Please order your materials by 12 August.
