Sign up for free digital POS to celebrate the Booker Prize longlist and Reading Challenge in your library, and a chance to win a trip to the Booker Prize ceremony in London.

The Booker Prize 2024 longlist, comprised of 12 or 13 books, will be announced at 2pm BST on Tuesday, 30 July.

The Booker Prize is the leading literary award in the English-speaking world. Each year, it is awarded to what is, in the opinion of the judges, the best sustained work of fiction written in English and published in the UK and/or Ireland.

Following the popularity of the inaugural International Booker Prize Reading Challenge, which saw over 200 fantastic libraries take part, we are pleased to share that there will be a new Reading Challenge for the Booker Prize this autumn.

The challenge, which will launch the week after the longlist has been announced, will encourage readers to explore the books on the Booker Prize 2024 longlist, share their thoughts, and connect with others from around the world over their love of great fiction. There will be digital and physical POS to help your library users get involved (and borrow their books from you!).

The materials will guide them to further downloadable online Reading Challenge resources including a reading chart and social media templates.

Digital packs will automatically be delivered to your email after the release of the Booker Prize 2024 Longlist on Tuesday, 30 July.

Your chance to win tickets to the Booker Prize 2024 ceremony

What’s more, the Booker Prize Foundation is running a competition for one library, based in the UK, to win two tickets for their librarians to attend the ceremony, which is being held at Old Billingsgate in London on the evening of Tuesday, 12 November. The prize will include an overnight stay and travel expenses, and a full set of the 12 or 13 titles longlisted for the Booker Prize 2024 (terms and conditions can be viewed here).

Simply sign up and share a photo of the materials displayed in your library by emailing them to jack.phillips@readingagency.org.uk and by posting on either Instagram or X and tagging @TheBookerPrizes, @ReadingAgency and #BPReadingChallenge by 5pm BST on Thursday, 12 September.

The Booker Prize Foundation will select one UK-based library as their winner, who in their opinion has used their POS to create a particularly creative and original display.
