Created as the perfect next step for readers of Isadora Moon, The Diary of Wiska Wildflower: The New School follows the story of the bubbly, creative, and ever-so-slightly shy Wiska as she starts her new school away from  all her old friends. Told in diary format and packed with  illustrations, letters, and notes for readers to pore over,  we follow the ups and downs of life at Inkcaps Academy.

This is one pack per public library. If you are ordering more than one pack (to disperse to other libraries in your region) you need to also email kathleen.ktorides@readingagency.org.uk to notify her of the individual library names that the packs will be used at. Alternatively, you can do individual orders for each library in the shop.

You can order the packs until 24th October but they may sell out before this date.

Please note, if you order a pack you are agreeing to use the materials within your library and to share photos of the group using them on social media tagging @piers_torday, @hachettechildrens (Instagram)/@hachetteschools (X) and @readingagency. You will also send feedback of how you used the provided materials by 24th November 2025. Please do not order the pack if you cannot commit to this. If you do not provide feedback then this may affect your orders in the future.

More about the book

Wiska’s relieved to make friends on her first day of school with Cleobelle and Primrose. But something about them makes her uncomfortable. They warn Wiska from making friends with anyone else in their class and insist that she  does as they say. Wiska is unable to be herself and starts  to feel her creative spark dwindling. Readers will be  urging her to break free and find the courage to show  her true self in a climactic showdown at the Spellbrooke City Fashion Show. 

This book is a gorgeous introduction to the world of  the Wisklings—tiny creatures that  are born from crystals, fly on flowers and leaves, and have dragon-like pets called draglets.
