The Booker Prize is the world’s most significant award for a single work of fiction. It has rewarded and celebrated world-class talent for over fifty years, shaping the canon of 20th and 21st century literature.

The Booker Prize 2025 longlist, announced on Tuesday, 29 July 2025, will showcase the best sustained works of fiction written in English and published in the UK and/or Ireland, as chosen by this year’s judging panel.

This year’s Booker Prize campaign, ‘Fiction worth talking about’, will encourage readers to explore the books on the 2025 longlist, share their thoughts, and connect with others from around the world over their love of great fiction.

The materials will guide readers to further online resources including extracts, judge interviews and comments, author interviews, a quiz and more.

Digital packs will be automatically delivered to your email after the release of the Booker Prize 2025 longlist at 2pm BST on Tuesday, 29 July 2025.

Your chance to win tickets to the Booker Prize 2025 ceremony

What’s more, the Booker Prize Foundation is running a competition for one UK-based library to win two tickets for their librarians to attend the ceremony, which is being held at Old Billingsgate in London on the evening of Monday, 10 November 2025. The prize will include an overnight stay and travel expenses, and a full set of the 12 or 13 titles longlisted for the Booker Prize 2025 (terms and conditions can be viewed here).

To be in with a chance, send a photo of your display to campaigns@readingagency.org.uk by 5pm BST, Thursday, 11 September 2025.

The Booker Prize Foundation will choose a library who has, in their opinion, used their printed materials to put together particularly creative and original displays. The winner will be contacted by Friday, 19 September 2025.
