The Emotions Series Library Activity Packs

The Emotions Series Library Activity Packs

Explore the emotions with Howard Pearlstein and James Munro’s series of picture books, perfect for Back to School preparation.

The ability to understand big feelings empowers children to better cope with emotional stress, build healthy relationships and develop a positive sense of self. But understanding these big feelings is easier said than done. That’s where the Emotions series comes in. The Shy Book, The Worried Book, The Sad Book and The Angry Book work together to help children identify emotions in a gentle, relatable and humorous way. By seeing the books as the main characters, children will be able to explore big feelings while learning simple techniques for handling their emotions with greater confidence.

  • These charming stories are perfect for children ages 3-7 and will resonate with both parents and educators looking to add to their book collections.
  • The latest book in the series is The Angry Book, which published in August 2026.
  • This award-winning series has been praised by BookTrust, Irish Examiner, Kirkus Reviews and many other book bloggers and reviewers.

The Angry Book

What does a book have to be angry about? How about doodles on its pages? Or, even worse, a one-star review?! The Angry Book is so angry that it’s in no mood to tell a story. But as the pages turn, the book (and its readers) discover valuable techniques for managing their emotions and taming their anger.

Help new school starters understand their emotions better with this pack of promotional material for the series.

To celebrate the publication of The Angry Book, Graffeg are offering 20 lucky libraries the chance to receive a wonderful combination of digital and physical the Emotions series resources.

Each pack will include:

  • A pack of bookmarks
  • One display copy of The Angry Book and The Shy Book
  • 4 A4 posters – one for each emotion
  • Stickers
  • Social media graphics
