The International Booker Prize is the world’s most influential award for translated fiction.

The 2025 longlist, announced on 25 February, will celebrate the best works of long-form fiction or collections of short stories translated into English and published in the UK and/or Ireland, as chosen by this year’s judging panel.

In championing works from around the world that have originated in a wide range of languages, the prize fosters an engaged global community of writers and readers whose experiences and interests transcend national borders.

For a second year, the International Booker Prize is inviting readers to join its Reading Challenge, which saw over 200 libraries take part in 2024. The challenge encourages translated fiction fans to explore the books on the 2025 longlist, share their thoughts, and connect with readers from around the world. The Booker Prize Foundation team is creating digital and print POS to help your library users get involved (and borrow their books from you!).

Print POS will include A4 posters and bookmarks featuring this year’s longlist, and postcards to help your library users track and share their progress. The materials will also guide readers to a host of downloadable online resources including a reading chart, social media templates and more.

To sign up to receive a free Reading Challenge point of sale kit, please order below by midday on Wednesday, 26 February (but packs may sell out before this). If you select any of the print materials you will also receive the digital POS kit.

Your printed POS should be with you by Wednesday, 12 March. All materials are printed on FSC-certified paper.

  • Option 1 - 2 x A4 posters,  50 x postcards and 50 x bookmarks + Digital POS kit

  • Option 2 - Digital POS kit only

WIN TWO TICKETS TO THE INTERNATIONAL BOOKER PRIZE CEREMONY

What’s more, the Booker Prize Foundation will select one UK-based librarian to win two tickets to the ceremony at London’s Tate Modern on Tuesday, 20 May, along with an overnight stay and travel expenses, and one set of the longlisted books (terms & conditions apply).

To be in with a chance, simply submit your details on the form below saying you’d like to enter, and once you receive your POS, send a photo of your display to campaigns@readingagency.org.uk. The Booker Prize Foundation will choose a librarian who has, in their opinion, used their POS to put together particularly creative and original displays.

To sign up for POS and to let us know you’ll be entering the competition, purchase a free physical pack and fill out this form by midday on Wednesday, 26 February.
