Celebrate National Hedgerow Week from 5 – 11 May 2025 with Spring by Michael Morpurgo, in partnership with Hodder Press and The Tree Council

Michael Morpurgo has lived on a farm deep in rural Devon for more than forty years. In Spring, he observes the season unfold around him, as fragile new shoots emerge, buds turn to blossom and grey skies give way to blue.

With new poems and reminiscences about childhood and springs gone by, this is an enchanting memoir of a season from one of the world's best-loved authors – and Michael’s first non-fiction for grown-ups in more than forty years.

Display Material

To celebrate Spring & National Hedgerow Week, 50 library display packs are available to request from Hodder Press. Packs include:

  • 2x A4 animal standees
  • 5 x A5 art prints
  • 10 x Bookmarks
  • 10 x National Hedgerow Week Leaflets

You can also request a pack of additional material from The Tree Council alongside the above pack, which is aimed at helping children learn more and celebrate National Hedgerow Week. We will email you after you have placed an order to see if your would like additional material. Packs include:

  • Posters
  • Activity Sheets
  • Bookmarks
  • Book Lists

 What you need to do

Please place your free order by 14 April 2025 (note, packs may sell out before this date). Print materials will be sent by post in two separate mailings – one from Hodder Press and one from The Tree Council (if you request the additional children’s material).

One of each pack per library only. If you are ordering for multiple libraries in your authority, please get in touch to Kimberley.Sheehan@readingagency.org.uk. 

The Tree Council are partnering with Hodder Press and have been collecting requests for this material separately – if you have requested display packs via The Tree Council, you do not need to make the request again via The Reading Agency.

Please note, by ordering a free pack you are agreeing to create a library display using the materials provided. You will be expected to send photos of your display to Kimberley.Sheehan@readingagency.org.uk in 20 June. You will also be asked to complete a short feedback form. Please do not order a pack if you cannot commit to this.
