Reading Well for families recommends helpful reading to support family wellbeing in pregnancy and the early years. It provides information on wellbeing, mental health and coping with loss. The books are for parents, carers and anyone supporting people from pregnancy onwards. The scheme is aimed at adults and includes a range of recommended books and supporting digital resources.


*Reading Well for families will launch on 10 June 2025* 

To guarantee delivery before 10 June 2025, pre-orders must be placed by 22 April. All pre-orders will be dispatched once the closing date has passed. This includes free and paid-for materials.

Orders placed after 22 April will be dispatched on an ongoing basis but are not guaranteed to arrive before the launch. 

 

Free print materials 

To support the delivery of the Reading Well for families scheme, library authorities purchasing book collections can claim a pack of free print materials.

For each book collection purchased, a library authority can claim a bundle containing: 

  • 500 user leaflets (containing the booklist) 

  • 10 A4 posters 

  • 1 sticker sheet (35 stickers per sheet)

Library authorities can each claim up to a maximum of 10 free bundles to be delivered to a single UK mainland address. If additional materials are required, these can be purchased below. Please select how many free bundles you wish to claim from the drop-down menu at the bottom of the page. We do not require proof of purchase before you place your order, but request that authorities keep a record of book collections purchased in case we need to follow up.

Print materials for purchase 

The following items are available to support delivery and promotion.

  • User leaflet: £48.00 per pack of 500 or £10.00 per 100  

  • Pull-up banner: £130.00 (overprint option + £40.00* - download the overprint form here)

  • Materials bundle (includes 500 leaflets, 10 posters and 1 sticker sheet): £50.00

Shipping is included.

Please note materials are all in English. Bilingual resources for Wales are not available to purchase. If you are based in Wales and are interested in Reading Well for families bilingual materials, please contact readingwell@readingagency.org.uk. 

 

Note on invoicing 

When placing your order through the online shop, you can opt to pay by invoice at checkout. Please include your PO number in the ‘Customer reference number’ field in your shopping basket. Orders placed by 14 March will be invoiced before year end.

Reading Well helps people to understand and manage their health and wellbeing using helpful reading available from public libraries. (There are separate Reading Well schemes for dementia and mental health for adults, teens and children.)
